In as much as I love cooking I have come to love the art of presenting food which is why I now make an effort to go and look for trinkets that can spruce up my plating.
The thing is, most places have very tacky or plain plates with not much character to them. The challenge becomes finding pretty plates that do not cost an arm and a leg.
One of my fave go to places is House of Leather. It's cheap shop known for cheap things. However, not everything there is poor quality. The crockery section always has some surprising finds in the way of pretty plates and bowls. The plates you see above are all from House of Leather and cost me between 600/- and 800/- each. Not bad considering the textured plates are ceramic and about 12 inches across.
Next time you go out looking for plates, pass by and give them a try, I'm sure you will be pleasantly surprised.
